This year’s Fitra has been fixed at the minimum amount of Taka 70 per person while the maximum at Taka 1,980.
Islamic Foundation today fixed the amounts at a meeting chaired by Hafez Maulana Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, senior Pesh Imam of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and president of the National Fitra Fixing Committee at the Islamic Foundation conference room, a press release said.
The minimum and maximum rates of Fitra have been set taking into account the market prices of flour, dates and other relevant food items, the release added.
Muslims with minimal affluence are obligated to offer Fitra or charity gift to the poor ahead of the greatest Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
