The Election Commission (EC) will start holding dialogue with political parties in the last week of this month for the 11th Jatiya Sangsad election.
“The Election Commission has a plan to hold dialogue with six political parties before Eid al-Adha while talks with the other 34 parties will continue from September 10,” Acting Secretary of EC Secretariat Helaluddin Ahmad told BSS.
He said the EC will hold dialogue with media representatives on August 16 and 17 before holding talks with political parties.
Some 60 media personalities including editors of different print,
electronic and online media, journalists’ leaders were invited to attend the dialogue.
Ahmad said the commission will fix the schedule of dialogue with the
political parties after holding talks with the media personalities.
As many as 10 representatives of political parties will be invited to join the dialogue which will be held in two shifts in morning and afternoon, he added.
The commission has started the continuous dialogue by holing talks with representatives of civil society on July 31 last.
